Shadowing In Provence
Vincent Van Gogh once quoted, “How wonderful the colour yellow is. It stands for the sun." I now understand why his search for light - both intensely bright and warm - was found in the south of France.
Influenced by a series of unexpected events (and good timing) in the south of France during a vacation in July, 2014, Shadowing in Provence is a playful study that explores the natural occurrence of light and shadow in planned and accidental circumstances.
The Tour de France, the Avignon Performing Arts Festival and the International Photography Festival in Arles all became chance discoveries to help shape this work-in-progress.
